The early 1970s fashion scene was very similar to 1969, just a bit more exciting. With both men and women wearing tight pants made of polyester and platform shoes, it was as crazy as it was glamorous. By the late 1970s the pant suit, leisure suit and track suit was what the average person was sporting as well as Tunics, culottes and robes being very popular.

The main high-street fashion inculded: Chest hair, medallions, polyester, butterfly collars, bell bottoms, skin-tight t-shirts, sandals, leisure suits, flower patterned dress shirts, sideburns and, yes, tennis headbands. Meaning that it wasn't just all about the type of garments you were wearing, but also how you styled your own body to fit with your spectacular outfit.

1950's fashion is an iconic time in the fashion history book.  It varied greatly through the decade and took inspiration from many 1920's styles. The 50's was the time in which a little more freedom was being introduced in what you can and can not wear. More lady's preferred the tighter Dior dress waist, where as others preferred dresses with no waistline; also known as “sack dresses.”

Buzzwords at the time were “shape” and “sheen” due to the un-answered question about the waistline, as well as the glistening elegance that wondered the streets at night on un-aware public models.


Eye's were caught by tailored coats in chiffon, silk and lace which were worn over summer dresses, not for warmth, but for the gorgeous flow of the garment that complimented the dress underneath.

                                       



Window displays themselves are the essence of stores in city's and towns. They are the first thing a customer see's before even entering the store. Giving them a feel of what that exact store can offer them. As for Christmas, it is one of the most creative times of year for stores to decorate their displays in wondrous and magical scenery; as well as their winter warmers and cold weather essentials to be out on display attracting more sales and fashion crazy customers.



Personally i love Christmas window displays. They bring such a festive feel when walking through any town or city. The bright lights and popping colors surrounding me make me feel all warm and cozy inside; whilst walking with a hot drink and watching my breath become visible in the air!
