People Tree- an Ethical Fashion brand
People tree has been recognize by customers and the fashion industry as a 'pinoeer in ethical and environmentally sustainable fashion'. People tree has partnered with Fair Trade producers, garment workers, farmers and artisans to produce ethical and 'eco fashion collections' for over 25 years. It is giving an alternative to what we call today fast fashion.
People tree have workshops in various places including Bombolulu in Mombassa, Kenya. It partners with Bombolulu to create leather work, jewelry, carving and textiles as well as providing work for over 100 people. Artisans make every detail of the jewelry by hand, even linking the chains.
Bombolulu makes a difference to not just your everyday workers lives, but also to the physically disabled. The non-profit organisation produces crafts at a very high standard whilst also offering vocational training to people with special abilities.
Each Fair trade group is unique to people tree, with work areas set up specifically to deal with a particular issue to help a specific community. People Tree also source over 90% of their products and materials form Fair Trade (WFTO) groups.
